🏆 Our recommendation: Use Google Chrome on a desktop or laptop computer. Chrome gives you the full Humanize Mastering experience — all features, all export formats, folder saving for stems, and the best audio processing performance. Edge and Opera (Chromium-based) are equally capable.

BROWSER DETAILS
🌐
CHROME (RECOMMENDED)
Version 90 or later recommended. All features fully supported including folder save for stems, all export formats, and maximum audio processing performance. Chrome is used by the majority of Humanize Mastering users and is our primary development target.
🔵
MICROSOFT EDGE
Fully supported — Edge is built on the same Chromium engine as Chrome. All features work identically. Version 90 or later recommended. A great alternative to Chrome for Windows users.
🔴
OPERA
Fully supported. Opera is also Chromium-based and supports all features including folder save for stems. Version 76 or later recommended.
🦊
FIREFOX
All mastering and export features work fully. The only limitation is stem folder saving — Firefox does not support the File System Access API, so stems will download as individual files instead of saving to a folder. Each stem downloads separately. Everything still works — it's just a slightly different flow. Version 90 or later recommended.
🧭
SAFARI (MAC)
Supported on Safari 14.1 or later. Folder save for stems requires Safari 15.2+. If you're on an older version of macOS, we recommend downloading the latest Safari update or switching to Chrome for the full experience. Safari on iPhone and iPad has additional limitations — see Mobile below.
🌏
OTHER BROWSERS
Brave, Vivaldi, and Arc are all Chromium-based and generally work well. Internet Explorer is not supported. Older browser versions may experience degraded performance or missing features. Always update your browser to the latest version for the best experience.
DEVICE & OPERATING SYSTEM
🖥️
WINDOWS (RECOMMENDED)
Windows 10 or 11 with Chrome or Edge gives the best experience. All features fully supported. For heavy batch mastering sessions, 8GB RAM or more is recommended. 16GB RAM is ideal for processing multiple large stems simultaneously.
🍎
MAC (RECOMMENDED)
macOS 11 (Big Sur) or later recommended. Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4) Macs perform exceptionally well — the audio processing engine takes full advantage of the hardware. Use Chrome for full feature support. Safari works on macOS 14.1+ for all features.
🐧
LINUX
Chrome and Firefox on Linux are both supported. All mastering and export features work. Folder save for stems works in Chrome. Audio driver configuration may affect performance on some Linux distributions — PulseAudio and PipeWire setups generally work without issues.
📱
iPHONE & iPAD
Basic mastering and export works, but the experience is significantly limited. Large files may cause the browser to run out of memory. Batch mastering, stem processing, and real-time spectrum analysis are not recommended on mobile. For any serious work, use a desktop or laptop.
🤖
ANDROID
Chrome on Android works for basic mastering on smaller files. Like iOS, batch processing and stems are not recommended. Screen size and touch navigation make the mastering chain difficult to control precisely. A desktop or laptop is strongly recommended for professional results.
💻
CHROMEBOOK
Chrome on Chromebook is fully supported for all mastering and export features. Folder save for stems works. Performance depends on the Chromebook model — higher-end Chromebooks handle batch processing well. Entry-level models may be slower with large files or multiple stems.
PERFORMANCE & SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
RECOMMENDED SPECS
Processor: Modern multi-core CPU (Intel i5/i7, AMD Ryzen 5/7, Apple M-series)

RAM: 8GB minimum, 16GB recommended for batch mastering and stem processing

Internet: Required for login, checkout, and Human ID™ processing. Mastering itself runs in your browser.

Storage: Exported files save to your local drive — ensure sufficient free space for your project.
🎵
SUPPORTED INPUT FORMATS
WAV — All sample rates, 16/24/32-bit
MP3 — All bitrates
FLAC — All standard FLAC files
AIFF — Standard AIFF files
OGG — Browser-dependent

For best results, always master from the highest quality source file available — WAV or FLAC at the original sample rate.
⚠️
LARGE FILE TIPS
Files over 200MB may take longer to process depending on your system. If you experience slowness:

• Close other browser tabs before processing
• Close other applications to free up RAM
• Use Chrome for best memory management
• For stems, process one at a time if your machine is older
• Avoid processing on battery — plug in for consistent performance
AUDIO SETTINGS & KNOWN ISSUES
🔊
BROWSER AUDIO PERMISSIONS
Some browsers require you to interact with the page before audio can play. If you don't hear playback, click anywhere on the page first and try again. This is a browser security policy, not an app issue.
🎧
AUDIO INTERFACE USERS
If you use an external audio interface (Focusrite, Apollo, RME etc.), make sure it's set as your default audio device in your OS settings before opening the app. The browser uses your system default audio output for playback.
🔒
POPUP BLOCKER
The app opens Stripe's checkout in a new tab for payment. If your browser blocks popups, you may need to allow popups for humanizemastering.com. Look for a popup blocked notification in your browser's address bar and click Allow.
🛡️
AD BLOCKERS & EXTENSIONS
Some aggressive ad blockers may interfere with Stripe checkout or Supabase authentication. If you have trouble signing in or completing payment, try temporarily disabling your ad blocker for humanizemastering.com, or use a private/incognito window.
📁
DOWNLOAD LOCATION
Exported files download to your browser's default download folder unless you use the stem folder picker. To change your default download location, go to your browser settings and look for Downloads. We recommend setting a dedicated folder for your Humanize Mastering exports.
🔄
PAGE REFRESH WARNING
Refreshing the page will clear your current mastering session. Make sure to export your master before refreshing or closing the tab. Your account settings and subscription are saved — only the unsaved session audio is lost on refresh.
