2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

2.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials through our third-party authentication provider (Supabase). If you sign in using Google OAuth, we receive your name and email address from Google.

2.2 Payment Information

Payment processing is handled by Stripe, Inc. We do not store your credit card numbers, bank account details, or other payment credentials on our servers. Stripe collects and processes your payment information in accordance with their privacy policy.

2.3 Audio Files

All audio files you upload to Humanize Mastering are processed entirely within your web browser using client-side technology. Your audio files are never uploaded to our servers, never transmitted over the internet, and never stored on any external system. Audio processing occurs locally on your device.

2.4 Preset Data

If you save mastering presets, they are stored in your browser's local storage and optionally synced to your account via our database for cross-device access. Preset data contains only mastering chain settings (slider values, toggle states, EQ curves) and does not contain any audio content.

2.5 Usage Data

We may collect non-personally identifiable usage data such as pages visited, features used, browser type, and device information for the purpose of improving our services.

3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve our mastering services; process subscription payments and marketplace transactions; sync your presets across devices; communicate with you about your account, updates, and service changes; prevent fraud and abuse; and comply with legal obligations.

4. MARKETPLACE & STRIPE CONNECT

If you participate in our preset marketplace as a seller, we collect additional information required by Stripe Connect for payment processing and identity verification, including your legal name, address, date of birth, tax identification number, and bank account information for payouts. This information is collected and stored by Stripe, not by Humanize Mastering. Stripe's privacy policy governs the use of this data.

For PRO Engineer applicants, we collect professional references (name, email, phone), studio affiliation, discography information, and your contact information. This data is stored in our database and used solely for verification purposes.

5. DATA SHARING

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We share information only with Stripe for payment processing and identity verification; Supabase for authentication and data storage; and law enforcement when required by law, court order, or governmental regulation.

6. DATA SECURITY

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all communications, secure authentication via Supabase with Google OAuth support, preset files encrypted with XOR encryption and account-specific license keys, Content Security Policy headers to prevent cross-site scripting, and strict access controls on our database with Row Level Security policies.

7. DATA RETENTION

Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. Preset data synced to the cloud is retained until you delete it or close your account. Payment records are retained as required by applicable financial regulations. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

8. YOUR RIGHTS

You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate information; request deletion of your account and data; export your preset data at any time using the built-in export feature; and opt out of non-essential communications.

9. COOKIES & LOCAL STORAGE

We use browser local storage (not cookies) to save your theme preference, preset data, undo/redo positions, and widget visibility settings. These are stored entirely on your device and are not transmitted to our servers unless you opt into cloud preset sync.

10. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Our services are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

11. INTERNATIONAL USERS

Humanize Mastering is operated from the United States. If you access our services from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using our services, you consent to such transfer and processing.

12. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on our website with a revised "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of our services after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
